Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
- In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In another bowl, cream softened butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients alternating with buttermilk until just combined.
- Stir in boiling water until well mixed (batter will be thin).
- Pour batter evenly into prepared pans and bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
