Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- Peel, core, and slice 4 medium Granny Smith apples. Toss with cinnamon and sugar in a bowl.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together 1/2 cup unsalted butter and 1 cup granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, whisk together 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with 1/2 cup whole milk.
- Fold half of the prepared apples into the batter gently using a spatula.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and top with remaining apple slices. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
