Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cup fresh or dried cranberries
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk with sugar and yeast; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, eggs, orange zest, and vanilla extract; combine with the yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually add flour while stirring until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. While the dough rises, mix cranberries with sugar and additional orange zest for filling.
  6. Roll out dough into a rectangle (¼ inch thick), spread softened butter evenly, and sprinkle cranberry filling over it.
  7. Roll tightly from one end to another and slice into 12 equal pieces; place cut-side up in a greased baking dish and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Mix powdered sugar with milk to create glaze; drizzle over slightly cooled rolls.
