- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup whole milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in one bowl.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy; add eggs one at a time and then mix in vanilla.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Divide batter; stir cocoa powder into half of it.
- Spoon alternate dollops of each batter into the pan and swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
