- 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion in olive oil until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, sautéed onions and garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf on a lined baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
- In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar and additional ketchup; brush this glaze over the meatloaf.
- Bake for about 1 hour or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C). Let rest before slicing.
