- 1 sturdy Italian or French loaf
- 8 oz thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak
- 1 cup sliced bell peppers (mixed colors)
- 1 cup sliced sweet onions
- 4 oz provolone cheese
- 4 oz sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté onions and bell peppers until soft (7–10 minutes).
- Add seasoned thinly sliced steak; cook until browned but juicy (about 5 minutes).
- Combine sautéed veggies and cooked steak in a bowl.
- Slice the loaf lengthwise without cutting through completely. Toast the inside under the broiler until golden brown.
- Layer provolone on one side and cheddar on the other inside the toasted loaf, then fill with the steak-veggie mixture.
- Wrap in foil and bake for 15 minutes. Unwrap and bake for an additional 5 minutes to melt cheese.
